Volunteering is a work of heart
During International Volunteers Day that fell on Dec 5th 2016, our record showed that we have 350 individual and corporate volunteers participated in various events to support education for underprivileged students by becoming volunteers with YCAB Foundation
One of them is PT Dow Indonesia who actively threw 3 volunteering programs such as:
- Painting Rumah Belajar bringing the theme “Painting for Change”
- Camping together with students (January 2017)
- Socialization about cyber security for YCAB cooperative’s clients (March 2017)
The first activity, painting YCAB Rumah Belajar, was held Friday, November 18th 2016 at Rumah Belajar Duri Kepa. 14 volunteers and 10 students (Package C class) participated hand in hand to paint and remodel Rumah Belajar.
The goal of this painting was to boost students’ appetite for learning by having more colorful walls. The classrooms painted were moving class like religion class, science class, social science class, character building class and math class
This events was also attended by Katsuhiro (Kenny) Ogawa as President Director of PT Dow Indonesia. He not only gave a welcome speech but also joined the other volunteers and students to paint.
PT Dow Indonesia also collaborated with their partner from PT Sun Central to provide painting materials and the break down team so everything can be completed smoothly and properly.
